The World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) actively participated in the SEMICON Japan 2025, one of the leading international platforms for the global semiconductor industry, bringing together key stakeholders from the technology, government, and research sectors. As the advancement of smart and sustainable cities increasingly relies on cutting-edge technologies such as IoT infrastructure, AI-enabled processors, and integrated sensor systems, engagement with the semiconductor ecosystem is essential for organizations shaping future urban environments. WeGO’s participation in SEMICON Japan 2025 aimed to strengthen its smart city initiatives by fostering strategic partnerships and gaining insights into the latest market developments and technological innovations. These engagements support WeGO’s efforts to align its programs and projects with emerging trends, policies, and standards in smart city development.

In parallel, the visit to Japan provided an opportunity for WeGO to further expand its institutional network through meetings with cities in Tokyo, as well as leading think tanks and academic institutions. Through these interactions, WeGO explored opportunities for joint research, identified potential partners for future initiatives, and discussed pathways for collaborative projects. These efforts contributed to reinforcing WeGO’s presence in Japan and establishing sustainable cooperation frameworks for long-term smart city collaboration.
