WeGO participated in BIXPO 2017 in Gwangju, Korea from November 1-3, the third annual edition of the conference. Hosted by the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), in 2016 the event drew over 52,000 visitors from 48 countries, and again it continued to be one of the world’s premier platforms for sharing and exchanging smart and sustainable city technology and trends.
As part of the three-day event, WeGO partnered with the Technology Innovation Accelerator, XnTree and and FMDV the Global Fund for Cities Development, to host the Global Smart City Leaders’ Summit which brought preeminent leaders of cities and the private sector from around the world to join in a roundtable discussion and share case studies of best practices. Among the topics discussed were the global inter-city platform for smart sustainable city development, PPP, and policies for innovation.
WeGO is also pleased to announce that during BIXPO it has formally signed an MoU with FMDV, the details of which may be found here. As part of the Global Smart City Leaders’ Summit, the private sector, national government, and city leaders assembled joined in adopting the Global Smart City Leaders’ Summit Declaration, which contains 9 resolutions adopted by the smart city leaders. Additionally, WeGO took part in the Global Smart City Tech Conference and hosted a booth at the New Technology Exhibition pavilion.
