Welcome to São Paulo!
The 7th WeGO General Assembly will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, on 26-27 November, 2026. Under the theme “Smart Cities for People: Building Peaceful and Inclusive Urban Futures”, this important event will reflect on the role of smart cities in building a more sustainable, human-centric, and inclusive future.
The event will feature a rich and diverse program designed to engage participants from around the world, including the main General Assembly session, a Mayors’ Meeting, Smart City Index sessions, thematic and parallel smart city panels, as well as technical and cultural visits. Through thematic panels on urban intelligence, innovations for urban safety, and digital inclusion, the event will serve as a platform to reflect on global urban challenges and solutions.
Making history as the first-ever gathering of WeGO members and partners in Latin America, this General Assembly marks a significant milestone for our organization. As a global metropolis, São Paulo provides an unparalleled setting to convene and discuss the development of smart cities.

Smart Sampa (PLACEHOLDER)
Program that integrates urban monitoring technologies, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to support city management. It focuses on risk prevention, emergency response, and real-time decision-making, strengthening data-driven urban governance.
SP 156
Unified digital citizen service channel that centralizes municipal requests, services, and information. The platform enhances administrative efficiency, transparency, and public access to government services.
USP Innovation District
Initiative that brings together the University of São Paulo and various public and private entities within a territory dedicated to innovation, science, and technology. The district fosters integration between academic research, entrepreneurship, the productive sector, and public policies, strengthening the urban innovation ecosystem.

Technology and Community Building: Participation, Trust, and Coexistence
This debate will highlight the development and use of ICTs and digital tools for social participation, collaborative platforms, and innovative public communication. Viewing cities as the first line of government, the session will emphasize engagement mechanisms that bring citizens closer to their municipal spheres, strengthening trust and reducing social tensions.

WeGO invites all interested member cities to bid for hosting:

- the WeGO Executive Committee Meeting in 2027,
- the 8th WeGO General Assembly in 2029,
- and the WeGO Regional Offices for Africa and for Europe.
WeGO also calls for candidates for:

- President City and/or Co-President City,
- and Executive Committee Member Cities to serve on a new term from 2026 to 2029.
