WeGO Engages Young Talent at HUSS Global Symbiosis Consortium Workshop
[Seoul, August 28, 2026] — The World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) was invited to take part in the Global Symbiosis Consortium’s Performance Sharing Workshop, held at the Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun. Ms. Eunbyul Elena Cho, WeGO’s Program Director, delivered a keynote speech to students and faculty from partner universities in the Consortium across the country.
The workshop was organized under the Humanities Utmost Sharing System (HUSS), a national initiative supported by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation to cultivate interdisciplinary talent in the humanities and social sciences. The Global Symbiosis Consortium is led by Kwangwoon University in partnership with Kookmin University, Sun Moon University, Yeungnam University, and Honam University, and brought together faculty and students to review the achievements of the Consortium’s first phase and to discuss the direction of its upcoming second phase.
Recognizing that many of the students in attendance come from diverse backgrounds but share a common interest in building international careers, Ms. Cho’s keynote introduced the fundamentals of smart city development and outlined WeGO’s role as a global platform connecting cities, corporations, and institutions in pursuit of smart and sustainable urban futures. She further highlighted WeGO’s range of initiatives, with particular emphasis on the WeGO Sustainable Smart City Champions Program, a flagship initiative through which young people around the world engage directly via online training courses and offline workshops.
Ms. Cho encouraged students to take part in the upcoming WeGO Champions Seoul Workshop and Global Youth Award, both to be held at COEX during Seoul Smart Life Week (SLW) this October, inviting them to connect with global peers and further explore career opportunities in the smart city and international cooperation sectors.
Following the keynote, WeGO joined a networking session with university officials and students, engaging in further conversation about the organization’s work and the WeGO Champions Program. The exchange offered a valuable opportunity to introduce WeGO to a new generation of prospective smart city professionals and to strengthen ties with Korea’s academic community, including Kookmin University, which hosted this year’s Phase 1 Performance Sharing Workshop.
