The WeGO Secretariat Welcomed a Delegation of Students from the University of Baltimore’s Global Business Program
[Seoul, May 26, 2026] – The WeGO Secretariat welcomed a delegation of sixteen MBA students from the University of Baltimore’s Global Business Program in Baltimore, United States. The visit was designed to introduce WeGO’s role as a worldwide network and provide the students with insights into international organizations and strategic decision-making in the context of smart sustainable city development.
The WeGO Secretariat, represented by Program Manager, Mr. Lii Inn Tan, delivered a presentation outlining the organization’s vision and initiatives. Several flagship activities of WeGO were highlighted, including Capacity Building Projects, Feasibility Studies, the Seoul Smart City Prize, and the WeGO Smart Cities Index. In addition, the WeGO Smart City Champions was promoted by Program Officer, Ms. Tatiana Ferreira, to the delegation.
The presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A and open debate session, during which the students demonstrated keen interest in the concept and real-world applications of smart cities. The discussion notably drew comparisons between Seoul and Baltimore’s urban experiences, examining how two cities with distinct contexts are each approaching the challenges and opportunities of digitalization and urban innovation. The session fostered lively dialogue on strategic decision-making, international cooperation, and best practices in smart sustainable development.
Through this visit, participants gained valuable insights into the principles of smart and sustainable city development. The event not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also fostered international dialogue on smart sustainable urban practices.
