WeGO publishes 2020 Annual Report and 2021 Activities booklet

SEOUL – WeGO has released its annual report for the past fiscal year, along with a booklet showcasing the activities planned for the coming year.
The 2020 Annual Report includes highlights from WeGO’s programs from January to December, and indicates new members and partner organizations.
In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WeGO had to postpone certain activities and carry out other regular programs online, including the annual Executive Committee Meeting. However, WeGO also launched a series of new programs including the Smart City Driver—an overarching framework for cities to help plan, finance, and deploy their smart city—and the Smart Health Reponder—which provides information to help combat the virus. In addition, WeGO continued its efforts to foster regional collaboration in the realm of smart city in Northeast Asia through event such as the Webinar on CJK Smart Cities and the NEASCN Online Pre-Workshop. WeGO took part in several online partner programs, such as the WEF-Smart Cities Mission Global Webinar and GO Smart Day Online among others.
Over the year, WeGO’s membership grew by about two dozen, and MOUs were concluded with two organizations, including the All India Institute of Local Self Government and Smart City Institute Japan.
For 2021, WeGO is slated to continue the new initiatives launched last year, and such as the Smart City Driver and Smart Health Responder. WeGO will also hold its 5th General Assembly, with highlights including the 4th WeGO Awards ceremony and WeGO’s 10th anniversary celebration event.
More information will be shared in the 2021 Briefing Session, which will this year be held jointly with the opening ceremony of the WeGO Africa Regional Office and the Regional Office Strategy Development Workshop.
