WeGO meets with Asian public transport authorities in Seoul

SEOUL – WeGO attended a biannual meeting of public transport authorities in Asia-Pacific, hosted this round by Seoul Metropolitan Government in cooperation with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP).

Invited as its special guest, WeGO represented by its Program Director shared with the representatives from Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Seoul on “Urban Transportation in Smart Sustainable Development.” Cases from member cities Seoul, Sejong, and Chengdu, were introduced along with mobility-themed feasibility studies conducted in Da Nang and Seberang Perai with support from WeGO.

UITP is a worldwide association of public transport authorities and operators, policy decision-makers, and other stakeholders with an interest in mobility. Its Asia-Pacific Organizing Authorities Platform (OAP) was formed in 2017 to facilitate the exchange of policies and knowledge among members across the region.

WeGO managers at today’s event in Seoul discussed with each organization present opportunities for cooperation, both in the context of mobility and in the area of smart cities in general.

At the conclusion of the sessions, WeGO and UITP agreed to continue their discussions toward possible joint activities for the benefit of their respective members.
