SRPOST to carry out feasibility study on smart parking in Kampala
September 17, 2019
SEOUL – Software developer SRPOST was selected as the consultant and solution provider for this year’s Smart Sustainable City Feasibility Study (F/S), funded and coordinated by WeGO.
WeGO’s annually provided service to local government members will over the coming several months seek to lay the foundation for establishing a smart parking platform with real-time information on available car parking spaces in Kampala, in partnership with the Kampala Capital City Authority. From now until early January, a dedicated team of experts from the company, along with staff from the WeGO Secretariat, will travel to Kampala for site inspections and meetings with stakeholders, in preparation for the final report followed by a pilot project, as possible.
SRPOST will also conduct a smaller scale analysis in Bharatpur, Nepal, as a secondary beneficiary of funding, due to the city’s overlapping project proposal and prospect for replicability.
A WeGO corporate member since last year, SRPOST specializes in e-government and smart city solutions. It was chosen through an official bidding process under this year’s theme of “Generating Actionable Data for Smarter Cities.”
Since 2009, 12 local governments around the world have benefitted from WeGO’s F/S, with the latest supporting the development of a data analytics platform for smart traffic in Da Nang, Vietnam, in 2018.
