About Host City Almaty!
Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, is a central player in the region’s economic and technological landscape. With a population of over 2.2 million and covering 683 km², Almaty has emerged as a hub for civil society and business innovation. As a member of WeGO since 2020, Almaty has actively engaged with the organization, applying for the Seoul Smart City Prize with projects such as the “Almaty Data Lake” and the “Geoanalytics Platform.” The city also established a WeGO Regional Office for Central Asia.
WeGO EXCOM Meeting 2024
- WeGO EXCOM Meeting will be happening alongside with the Eurasian Mobile Summit 2024
- The host city will be providing Technical and Cultural Tours
- Official WeGO Central Asia Regional Office Opening Ceremony will be happening during the EXCOM week
- WeGO Executive Committee Members will gather to to review the Secretariat’s activities and accomplishments in the past year and to decide on key agenda items guiding the organization’s direction for the future.
- WeGO also welcome to invite observers from local governments and institutions to join to the EXCOM open session to foster diverse viewpoints and inclusive dialogue.
