WeGO calls for candidates for President City and Executive Committee Member Cities to serve a new term from 2026 to 2029. The President City and the new Executive Committee Members will be elected at the upcoming 7th WeGO General Assembly to be held in November 2026.

The General Assembly is WeGO’s triennial flagship event, it gathers both members and non-members to shape the key agenda that will help chart WeGO’s direction for the next three years. The event features various smart city sessions and workshops, a Mayors’ Roundtable, a CIO Forum, the Executive Committee (EXCOM) Meeting, and the GA itself.

The WeGO Executive Committee (EXCOM), WeGO’s main decision-making body, convenes annually to review the Secretariat’s activities and accomplishments in the past year and to decide on key agenda items guiding the organization’s direction for the future.
