
Gie Hyun Youn
Gie Hyun Youn is an accomplished legal and policy expert with extensive experience in inter-Korean affairs, legislative policy, and international law. He currently serves as Chairman of the Policy Committee at the Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation (KCRC), where he plays a leading role in advancing dialogue and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula through policy development and strategic initiatives.
Mr. Youn is licensed to practice law in the State of New York and brings a strong international perspective to his work, having previously served as a Foreign Attorney at Young Jin Law Firm in Korea. In this role, he provided legal counsel on cross-border transactions and public interest cases, contributing to the firm’s international legal practice. Earlier in his career, he served as a Public Policy Advisor to a Member of the National Assembly, where he was deeply engaged in legislative affairs, intergovernmental coordination, and policy planning on national reconciliation and unification. In addition to his legal and policy work, Mr. Youn has contributed to legal education as a Lecturer at Yonsei University Law School, sharing his expertise in international law and public policy with the next generation of legal professionals.
Mr. Youn holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Bachelor of Laws (B.L.) from Seoul National University College of Law. His academic background, combined with his diverse career in public service, international law, and civic engagement, positions him as a key voice in advancing peace and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula.
With his cross-sectoral experience and commitment to public service, Mr. Youn continues to be a leading contributor to Korea’s efforts toward national reconciliation and regional stability.
