Arthur H. Lee

President Arthur H. Lee is a distinguished academic leader and computer science scholar with over three decades of experience in higher education and research.

Dr. Lee currently serves as the President of SUNY Korea, a position he has held since January 2022. Prior to this role, he served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the same institution from 2018 to 2021. He has also chaired the Department of Computer Science at SUNY Korea since 2016, contributing to the development of academic programs and research capacity in the field. Before joining SUNY Korea, Dr. Lee held the W.M. Keck Chair of Computer Science at Claremont McKenna College in California from 2005 to 2016. He was also a faculty member at the University of Utah’s School of Computing between 2001 and 2004, following his earlier career as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Department Chair at Korea University’s Department of Computer Science in Seoul from 1993 to 2000.

Dr. Lee has also gained valuable experience in the private research sector, having worked as a Research Staff Member at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) and as a Consulting Research Member in the mid-1990s. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Utah, an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Utah. President Lee has dedicated his career to advancing computer science education and building bridges between academic institutions in Korea and the United States.
