WeGO Showcases Global Leadership in Smart Cities at CES 2025
Las Vegas, January 9, 2025 — The World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) participated at CES 2025, held in Las Vegas from January 6 to January 9, by promoting the Seoul Smart City Prize and fostering international collaborations to drive innovation in smart city development.
The WeGO delegation actively participated in key events, including the Seoul Booth Opening and the Busan Booth Opening, where they had the opportunity to meet with the Mayor of Busan and the CEO of the Busan Economic Promotion Agency. These interactions emphasized Korea’s commitment to smart city advancements and global partnerships.
In addition, the WeGO team attended a session where they introduced the organization and the Seoul Smart City Prize to the Lieutenant Governor of Michigan, highlighting the global impact of the Prize and its role in fostering inclusive and sustainable urban solutions.
WeGO also engaged with international stakeholders, including the Councillor for Innovation and International Cooperation from Paris Est Marne & Bois and the Municipal Councillor of Charenton-le-Pont. These meetings served to discuss WeGO’s activities for 2025 and extend invitations to apply for the Seoul Smart City Prize.
One of the key highlights of the visit was a strategic meeting with the leadership of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), including the President, Vice President, and Show Director of CES. WeGO invited the CTA President to join the High Council of the Seoul Prize and participate in the upcoming Seoul Smart Life Week, reinforcing the partnership between global tech leaders and smart city innovators.
“CES 2025 was a remarkable platform for WeGO to showcase the Seoul Smart City Prize and engage with leaders from across industries and governments,” said WeGO Secretary General Mr. Jeong-kee Kim. “These collaborations are instrumental in driving innovation and fostering sustainable urban development worldwide.”
WeGO’s participation at CES 2025 underscores its dedication to promoting smart city excellence and fostering global partnerships that inspire cities to adopt cutting-edge technologies and solutions.
