WeGO Met the Delegation from Seremban City Council
Seoul, October 7, 2024 — The WeGO Secretariat, represented by Secretary General, Jeong-kee Kim, and Program Manager, Lii Inn Tan, welcomed a delegation of thirty-six delegates from the City Council of Seremban and Government officials from the Seremban City Council. The visit was designed to introduce WeGO’s operations around the world and discuss potential collaborations for Seremban City to become a WeGO member.
The session started with a welcome remark delivered by WeGO’s Secretary General Jeong-kee Kim. It was followed by a remark from Seremban’s Head of Delegation City Councillor, Mr. Lee Kai Yet, introducing Seremban’s smart city initiatives including Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0, a state-led, private sector-driven integrated economic region complementing the development of Greater Kuala Lumpur to be a competitive, inclusive and clean world-class metropolis.
During the WeGO session, a presentation on WeGO’s activities was delivered by Program Manager, Mr. Lii Inn Tan, outlining the organization’s vision and initiatives. Several flagship activities of WeGO, including Capacity building projects, Feasibility Studies, the Seoul Smart City Prize, and WeGO Smart City Champions, were highlighted.
The presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A session during which WeGO received great interest from the participants about WeGO’s membership process, cooperation opportunities, feasibility studies opportunities and WeGO’s network across Asia and the world. The Seremban City Council expressed a strong interest in learning more about WeGO members’ smart city initiatives on urban planning strategies and inclusivity.
The WeGO Secretariat extended its sincere appreciation to the delegation of Seremban City Council for their interest in WeGO Membership. The WeGO Secretariat looks forward to welcoming Seremban City Council to join the WeGO family and further exploring potential collaborations together.
