WeGO discusses Seoul Smart City Prize 2024 with SEMI CEO & President Mr. Ajit Manocha

Seoul, February 05, 2024 –  WeGO met with Mr. Ajit Manocha, President and CEO of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) to discuss the 2nd Seoul Smart City Prize taking place this year.

As one of the distinguished Steering Committee members of the Seoul Prize, Mr. Manocha shared how the Seoul Prize aligns with SEMI’s mission to “Connect, Collaborate, and Innovate.” Mr. Manocha, who recognizes the importance of learning collectively in innovation through industry and technology collaboration, said he would like to connect this emphasis further with WeGO’s activities, including the Seoul Smart City Prize in 2024. SEMI is the global industry association that unites the entire electronics manufacturing and design supply chain, connecting more than 3,000 members and 1.3 million professionals worldwide. Since 1970, SEMI has built connections that have helped its members prosper, create new markets, and address common industry challenges together.

While SEMI’s Smart Initiatives, which facilitate collaborative innovation around the sectors of Mobility, Manufacturing, Data-AI, and MedTech, are prime cases eligible for the Seoul Prize, WeGO and SEMI look forward to identifying exemplary projects from SEMI’s expansive network, including its 3,000 member companies. Furthermore, the two organizations will continue their discussion around how SEMI can play a bigger role in the Seoul Smart City Prize this year, by awarding a smart city project under the Special Mention Prize category which aligns with SEMI’s key values in smart city development.
