WeGO Discusses Collaborative Opportunities with Ambassadors’ Spouses Association of Seoul
Seoul, July 12th, 2024 – On July 11, WeGO welcomed two representatives from the Ambassadors’ Spouses Association of Seoul (ASAS) at the WeGO office, Natalia Federighi, President of ASAS and Chaba Rhuwanya Mavura, Vice President of ASAS.
ASAS representatives expressed keen interest in WeGO’s programs and how WeGO works with its members and partners around the world. Both organizations shared emphasis on the importance of focusing on socially neglected groups within the development of smart cities. WeGO and ASAS explored potential areas of cooperation, particularly in women’s empowerment and inclusive approaches within smart city solutions. ASAS showed special interest in WeGO’s Smart Sustainable Cities Champions Program and Seoul Smart City Prize initiative, which will be shared within its network for further cooperation.
The Ambassadors’ Spouses Association of Seoul (ASAS) is composed of the spouses of ambassadors stationed in Seoul. The association engages in various charitable and cultural activities within Korea including fundraising for schools for the disabled and blind, organizing charity bazaars and arranging educational outings. ASAS members also participate in volunteer activities such as health related initiatives, talent donations through art exhibitions and providing interpretation services for international patients. They regularly convene to plan and discuss activities that positively impact the local community.
This meeting marks a significant step in WeGO’s ongoing efforts to foster global partnerships and advance its mission of creating smart, inclusive and sustainable urban environments. WeGO looks forward to the potential outcomes of this engagement and the possibility of further collaboration with ASAS to enhance smart city initiatives globally.
