WeGO and the Embassy of Italy Lay the Groundwork for a Smart City Alliance
Seoul, August 9th – WeGO had a very fruitful discussion with the Embassy of Italy to discuss smart city initiatives in Italy and explore potential areas of cooperation between Italian and Korean cities. This dialogue took place within the framework of WeGO’s human-centric smart city approach and Italy’s City Diplomacy initiative. A significant part of the discussion centered around connecting cities from Italy and WeGO members that share common traits and development goals, thereby fostering international cooperation in smart city development. It was agreed to regularly exchange information on programs of mutual interest, such as the Seoul Smart Life Week and Italy’s City Diplomacy Initiative. The Embassy of Italy will suggest Italian cities interested in potential cooperation, which WeGO will then use to facilitate invitations for the upcoming Seoul Smart Life Week. A commitment was made to identify and pair cities from Italy and Korea based on shared interests and common characteristics, paving the way for future collaborations.
