October 2, 2019
MANILA – WeGO promoted its activities and shared its members’ experience in smart mobility at a newly established expo on roads and traffic in the Philippines, which started yesterday in Manila.
Over 3,000 Filipino and international industry leaders gathered at the two-day 2019 Roads & Traffic Expo to do business and get up to speed with developments in the field of traffic management, parking, and safety, at the event supported by the Philippine Government, associations, and media outlets.
WeGO delivered a presentation on mobility in smart cities and showcased ongoing projects to help improve urban transportation, along with the Chairman of the Metro Manila Development Authority and other senior officials specializing in transportation, public works, and highways. WeGO discussed how multimodal public transportation is the preferred mode of transport for smart cities, shared successful transport initiatives in cities such as its President City Seoul, and provided insight on ways in which best practice could be applied in Metro Manila.
WeGO took the opportunity to network with the different stakeholders present to discuss collaboration at WeGO’s upcoming General Assembly. Prior to the conference, WeGO also met with officials from Makati City to discuss details of the event, such as dates, venue, and possible themes, decisions on which are expected to be solidified in the coming weeks.
The 5th WeGO General Assembly will take place in Makati City next year in September, around the same time as the second edition of the Roads & Traffic Expo.
