Welcome to Seoul! 

The 6th WeGO GA took place in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, from September 25 to 27, 2023, with the theme “Smart City, Smart Citizen.” WeGO General Assembly gathered more than 200 participants representing 58 local governments from more than 30 countries, including 24 mayoral-level representatives, (Governor, Mayor, and Vice Mayor or Deputy Mayor) and 45 WeGO local government members, in total attending the Session both in person and online, representing a total population of 130,996,081 citizens from five (5) different regions, including Central Asia, East Asia, Middle East, Oceania, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

The 6th WeGO General Assembly Highlights

• Seoul was approved as the President City of WeGO.
• Almaty became the Executive Vice President City of WeGO and the Host City of the 7th WeGO General Assembly in 2026.
• Kampala and São Paulo were elected as the Vice President of Cities of WeGO for the term from 2023 to 2026. 
• Three WeGO Regional Offices were established: the Middle East & North Africa Regional Office in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), the Central Asia Regional Office in Almaty (Kazakhstan), and the Latin America Regional Office in Cuenca (Ecuador).
• Seven new members have been approved as new full members of the organization.
• New WeGO Executive Committee Members (14 total) were confirmed for the term from 2023 to 2026.
