WeGO expanded its network in the Middle East and North Africa region during its participation in WUF 12, forging important connections with prominent cities and corporations in Egypt. Discussions with officials from 10th of Ramadan City, the Cairo Governorate, the Assistant Minister of Housing of Egypt, and corporate partners such as LG Egypt laid the foundation for future collaborations.

World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) hosted the award ceremony for the second Seoul Smart City Prize at COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul. The ceremony recognized outstanding smart city initiatives that prioritize human-centric and technological innovation.

WeGO hosted a pivotal session titled “Understanding Smart Cities: A Multi-Expert Dialogue” as part of its ongoing international youth capacity-building initiative. This third edition of the program brings together young leaders to engage in discussions surrounding smart city development, sustainability, and technological innovations shaping the cities of tomorrow.
WeGO successfully concluded the WeGO-NIA Joint Training Course 2024 in Seoul. This four day program, from October 8 to 11, brought together urban development professionals from various cities around the globe to collaborate, learn and share knowledge on smart city practices.

The Off-line Training Program for the Seoul Smart City Prize Winners is organized by WeGO and SHRDC which is offered to the 2023 Seoul Smart City Prize winners. The online program is a series of e-learning and live virtual lectures of approximately 10 hours in various smart city topics. The offline program consists of in-person lectures and smart city tours around Seoul.

The WeGO Secretariat, in collaboration with Kookmin University, welcomed a delegation of thirty-one Executive MBA students from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. The visit was designed to introduce WeGO’s operations around the world and strengthen the students’ understanding of the organization in promoting smart sustainable development.
