The WeGO Sustainable Smart City Champions workshop on “Youth, Leadership, and Sustainable Transformations” marked the first overseas offline workshop of the year 2025. It was successfully held at the United Nations Headquarters and the University of Geneva for a two-day session on June 24 and 25, 2025.

Building upon WeGO’s engagements with ITU, UN-Habitat, and UN–ODET, WeGO continued building partnerships with Geneva-based international organizations during a recent mission to Switzerland. During this mission, WeGO representatives engaged in a series of high-level meetings with key stakeholders, including United Nations officials, city leaders, and academic institutions.

The WSIS+20 Forum High-Level and AI for Good events brought together high-ranking officials from national governments, the private sector, civil society, academia, the technical community, and international organizations. The events aimed to promote people-centered, development-oriented digital governance, with a particular focus on harnessing artificial intelligence to address global challenges.

The World Smart City Expo (WSCE) is one of Asia’s largest exhibitions dedicated to showcasing innovations, best practices, and solutions in smart urban development. This year’s theme, “Next City For All,” highlights inclusive and AI-driven city development. The opening ceremony will feature keynote speeches from notable figures like Paul Zikopoulos (IBM) and Professor Dennis Hong (UCLA), emphasizing the event’s global significance.
