Jae Sung Kwak

Dr. Jae Sung Kwak is the Professor of International Development at the Graduate School of Pan-Pacific International Studies (GSP), Kyung Hee University. He is specialized in international political economy, international development, and Latin American Studies. He has also advised numerous public and international organizations, and private enterprises including World Bank, ADB, IDB, UNECLAC, Samsung Electronics, LG Group as well as Korean ministries and aid agencies like KOICA on various agenda related to international development. He is the President of Korea Association of International Development and Cooperation (KAIDEC) from 2025. 

He holds B.A in Hispanic studies from Seoul National University and Ph.D. in international politics from the University of Liverpool, UK. Recent publication includes “A Study on the Determinants of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for Digital Start-ups in Sub-Saharan Africa (2021)”, “The World before and after COVID-1 (2021)”, “Brazil on the Rise: Story of a Country Transformed (2020, translated)”, “The Usefulness and Limitations of Cuban Medical Diplomacy (2019)”.
