
Dean Fealk
Mr. Dean Fealk is a globally recognized legal expert and public policy advisor specializing in international business, employment law and cross-border equity matters. He currently serves as a Partner at DLA Piper, one of the world’s largest law firms where he leads the firm’s Global Equity Practice and serves as the Pro Bono Partner for the San Francisco office. Mr. Fealk has previously served as Co-Regional Managing Partner for Northern California and Office Managing Partner for San Francisco.
Over his career, Mr. Fealk has advised leading multinational corporations on legal, strategic, and geopolitical issues spanning over 100 countries across Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. He has managed international expansion projects, guided more than US$45 billion in cross-border transactions, and led legal counsel on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and employment compliance for Fortune 500 companies and emerging enterprises. His clients span a wide range of industries including technology, life sciences, financial services, pharmaceuticals and energy. Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Fealk is a dedicated public servant and thought leader. He has advised U.S. presidential campaigns and foreign governments on global trade and economic policy and is a sought-after speaker on international law and business. A Wall Street Journal-bestselling author, he has contributed to publications such as Forbes, Fast Company, and The Atlantic, and has been featured by National Public Radio (NPR). He was named a Chief Influencer by the Communications Board for his contributions to public discourse.
Mr. Fealk has also contributed to civic and educational institutions as a member of the California Workforce Development Board and as a board member of organizations such as the Bay Area Council. He has lectured at leading law schools in the United States and Korea, including UC Berkeley, UC Law San Francisco, Santa Clara University, and Kyung Hee University. He has served as a consultant to the World Bank and was the first U.S. citizen to clerk at the Constitutional Court of Korea.
Mr. Fealk holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and Master’s degrees from the London School of Economics and Kyung Hee University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. He earned his B.A. from Michigan State University and completed the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. For his service, Mr. Fealk has received numerous honors, including the State Bar of California’s Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services and recognitions from Chambers USA and The Legal 500. He continues to advance international legal cooperation and inclusive development through his legal work, scholarship, and pro bono leadership.
