WeGO Participates in the 2024 International Organizations Career Fair

Seoul, July 15th, 2024The WeGO attended the “2024 International Organizations Career Fair” held on July 15th at Seoul City Hall. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Seoul Metropolitan Government to provide recruitment information to youth aspiring to work in international organizations and to support the increased presence of Koreans in these entities. It aimed to offer useful information to citizens interested in careers within international organizations.

The career fair featured a robust presence from seven renowned international organizations based overseas, including the UN Secretariat, UNESCO, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Also ten Seoul based international organizations set up booths including WeGO, CITYNET, UN Women Gender Equality Center, UNHCR Korea Office, UNICEF Seoul Liaison Office, World Food Programme (WFP), World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the FAO Korea Partnership Office.

The event drew over 800 enthusiastic attendees eager to explore career opportunities and engage with organizational representatives. In particular WeGO’s booth attracted many young students where the organization showcased its diverse initiatives and career prospects.

During the fair, Eunbyul Elena Cho, Head of the Program Department at WeGO delivered a short introduction of WeGO and its focus on inclusive smart city development. She presented WeGO’s flagship programs such as the Seoul Smart City Prize, the Smart Index, and the Capacity Building Program, capturing significant interest and enthusiasm from the audience. 

This career fair provided a valuable opportunity for WeGO to promote its initiatives and presence to the attendees and offer essential information to those aspiring to work in international organizations.
