WeGO and the Institute of Smart City & Architecture step up a partnership to strengthen smart city cooperation

SEOUL, MAY 04, 2023WeGO and the Institute of Smart City & Architecture (ISCA) signed a cooperation agreement to jointly promote the development of sustainable human-centered smart cities.

The Institute of Smart City & Architecture is a collection of institutions that aim to promote healthy growth and construction of cities for the next generations by implementing advanced technologies for sustainable development.

Under this agreement, WeGO and the Institute of Smart City & Architecture will exchange expertise on urban issues and promote smart city development programs among their partners. The cooperation also includes strengthening the ties between local and regional governments, and their partners and members.

During the MOU signing ceremony, Secretary General Jung Sook Park introduced WeGO’s newest initiative, the Seoul Smart City Prize. The Seoul Smart City Prize is designed to promote an innovative yet inclusive smart city model that centers on underprivileged groups. WeGO and the Seoul Metropolitan Government plan to pursue close cooperation with cities, companies, and institutions around the world to find exemplary cases and commend them through the Seoul Smart City Prize by sharing the vision of fostering a people-centered smart city.

The Institute of Smart City & Architecture showed their keen interest in this initiative and agreed to promote the Seoul Smart City Prize among its network. Similarly, WeGO’s Secretary General Jung Sook Park expressed her eagerness to push the initiative forward and establish the platform for the ISCA members to initiate partnerships in smart and sustainable development.

In addition, WeGO and the Institute of Smart City & Architecture will promote private-public partnerships, a vision both signing parties uphold. WeGO believes in a strong partner ecosystem that creates value for its members through innovative solutions and the collective achievement of visions, goals, and organizational objectives.

“I believe that if ISCA (Institute of Smart City and Architecture) is the collective intelligence, then WeGO is the collective identity in our partnership” –  concluded WeGO Secretary General Ms. Jung Sook Park.
