WeGO discusses smart city indicators and ranking at Moscow Forum

ONLINE – Today, WeGO took part in Moscow’s International Smart Cities Forum, an event aiming to create a platform for stakeholders in different sectors around the world to share knowledge on the implementation of advanced digital solutions in all areas of urban life.
Held online on May 25-26 in English and Russian, the event had between 4,000 and 9,000 live remote participants depending on the sessions.
Leading experts and heads of local governments around the world spoke in 15 sessions on topics including: Technologies in the fight against COVID-19, 5G, Big data, Digital services, e-Government, Artificial intelligence, Smart grids, Food tech, etc.
WeGO’s Secretary General Kyong-yul Lee participated in the session entitled “ Sustainable, smart, resilient: ideas and concepts for urban development” in which he discussed the definition of smart cities and how to assess the progress and success of smart cities.
The city of Moscow has been a WeGO member since 2015 and was also the host of WeGO’s Online EXCOM 2020. A replay from the session can be watched here, along with all the other sessions from the Smart Cities Moscow event.
