The Portal de Datos Abiertos has been the official data platform of the Mexico City Government since January 2019. In April 2020, its scope was expanded by incorporating a new COVID-19 data section, and this continues to be expanded and updated.

FEATURES

  • The service is totally public and free, provided by Mexico City as a form of proactive transparency.
  • The web portal is available on the page https://datos.cdmx.gob.mx. From here, one can view more than 215 data sets in 16 categories. The new section on COVID-19 has data updated on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • The section on COVID-19 includes 24 data sets, of which the following stand out: Active cases of COVID-19 in Mexico City, down to the neighborhood level, contracts awarded for COVID-19-related projects, hospitalization numbers, and screenings, among others.

ONGOING RESULTS

  • The Open Data Portal has evolved every day as new data sets and categories are added. Every day, interested city residents have more information regarding all the topics referred to in the city including those related to the new category of COVID-19. In the 2021 Action Plan, improvements to information visualization are planned.
