Hallym Hospital adopted artificial intelligence-based facial recognition technology in controlling access to the hospital’s ward. Through the new system, patients and caregivers can access the ward through facial recognition, instead of the conventional method which required them to ask for a pass or manually write their personal information at the entrance desk.
FEATURES
- A facial recognition system uses biometrics to map the key facial features identified from an individual’s photograph. Such “faceprint” is saved into the hospital’s database, allowing access to the AI to use for identifying and authorizing an individual’s access to the hospital’s ward.
ONGOING RESULTS
- The new technology allows less human-to-human contact, helping to minimize the spread and impact of COVID-19.
- Until now, the facial recognition technology has shown a 100% accuracy in correctly identifying the patients and caregivers.
