Smart Cities Week Washington D.C.
(Sep. 30 – Oct. 2, Washington D.C.)
WeGO is pleased to invite all WeGO members to attend the Smart Cities Week Washington D.C. to be organized by our new partner, Smart Cities Council (SCC), from September 30 to October 2, 2019.
With the overarching theme of “Smart Infrastructure: Equitable Communities”, the event is an annual gathering of the community of SCC’s partners and cities that helps accelerate smart cities action and investment in cities, towns, and regions across the world. Through new models of convening and engaging, Smart Cities Week seeks to facilitate effective multi-stakeholder dialogue and networking. Boardroom sessions, City Readiness Hub dialogues, and Leadership Circle discussions break the traditional conference design.
The event will feature dynamic speakers from across the smart city ecosystem. WeGO will be represented by Albert Graves, WeGO Program Director, who will also serve as a panelist at the International Smart Cities: Lessons from Abroad session. The session will give insights from smart city practitioners from around the globe who are leading their communities to a more sustainable and equitable future.
Another highlight of the event will be the “Smart Cities Activator Training Workshop” that will demonstrate how public sector officials can use SCC’s Smart Cities Activator to accelerate smart city development plans and projects through various planning and collaboration tools. Notably, the upcoming EXCOM 2019: Advancing Human-Centered Smart Cities will mark the official launch of WeGO Activator exclusively designed for WeGO members.
