An interactive map where all residents of Mexico City and the neighboring state of Mexico can check on the availability of the hospitals that are providing medical attention to patients infected with COVID-19. The platform can locate the user and show the hospitals with available beds that are nearer to her location. This tool is helpful in order to prevent people from visiting more than one hospital looking for medical attention.

FEATURES

  • The map is available both in the website hospitales.covid19.cdmx.gob.mx and the City’s App, App CDMX, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. The information is also provided via the non-emergency number, LOCATEL.
  • The information on available beds is updated on a daily basis and covers more than 50 hospitals, managed by both the local and the federal levels of government.
  • A color code is used to distinguish hospitals with high, half or limited availability (green, orange and red).

ONGOING RESULTS

  • The platform was launched on April 18 and is fed by data provided by hospitals that belong to the Mexico City Health Ministry, the State of Mexico Health Ministry, and the Mexican Health Ministry at the federal level, as well as the Mexican Institute for Social Security (IMSS) and the Social Security Institute for Public Officials (ISSSTE).
