Seoul, September 26, 2023 – The 6th WeGO General Assembly is a triennial event that gathers both members and partners to shape key agenda that will help chart WeGO’s direction for the coming years.

As the main governance meeting of WeGO, at the General Assembly WeGO’s accomplishments are reviewed and decisions are made on key agenda items such as the  election of new President City, Vice President Cities, Executive Committee Members, approval of statute changes, and selection of the next General Assembly host city.

Under this year’s theme  “Smart City, Smart Citizen”,  the 6th WeGO General Assembly convene in Seoul, where WeGO members gathered from all parts will shape the organization’s goals and vision for the next three years. This General Assembly carried a special meaning as it is the first time Seoul was hosting the event onsite since the Inaugural Assembly in 2010.

The 6th WeGO General Assembly gathered leaders to share their smart city development experiences, and discuss how to create more inclusive, sustainable, and livable urban spaces.

Cities and Local governments around the world are witnessing a rapid digital transformation. This transformation has brought both progress and challenges such as the increase in digital inequality. These topics were the center of this General Assembly that aimed to create a global consensus on human-centered smart city development.
