WeGO kicked off the annual regular training program for WeGO members
Seoul, June 27th – this year’s online program is focusing on the topic of Seoul’s Smart City Initiatives, Seoul’s Big Data for Post-COVID Digital Transformation, Smart City Policy Case Study, Smart City Policy Implementation and Recent Technology Trends, and Enhancing Smart and Sustainable Cities in the Post-Pandemic and Digital Transformation Era.
A total of 36 city experts from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Abuja (Nigeria), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Baku (Azerbaijan), Bangkok (Thailand), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Cuenca (Ecuador), Jakarta (Indonesia), San Fernando, La Union (Philippines), and São Paulo (Brazil) are participating in this three-week program.
During the Online Live Orientation Session, the President of the SHRDC and the Secretary General of WeGO greeted and welcomed all training program participants.
“This Online Training Program is important in terms of introducing Seoul’s smart city initiatives, enhancing the smart city policy capabilities of WeGO Member Cities and bridging the divide between Cities, and also fostering collaboration among WeGO members cities and Seoul” – said WeGO Secretary-General.
“It’s great to see public officials from different cities around the world joining the training program. I believe this is a precious opportunity to strengthen the smart sustainable development in the world and further enhance city-to-city cooperation through the platform provided by both WeGO and SHRDC” – commented 2023 WeGO-SHRDC Online Training Program Lead Lii Inn Tan.
