WeGO Concludes WeGO-NIA Joint Training Course 2024 with Success

Seoul, October 15, 2024 The World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) successfully concluded the WeGO-NIA Joint Training Course 2024 in Seoul. This four day program, from October 8 to 11, brought together urban development professionals from various cities around the globe to collaborate, learn and share knowledge on smart city practices. The course aimed to empower participants with the tools and insights necessary to implement smart city solutions tailored to their local needs and challenges.

During the course, participants gained invaluable knowledge, starting with an intensive session on PCP Writing Methodology led by Hyunjung Kim, a consultant from KODAC. This session provided practical techniques to enhance project proposals for urban development initiatives, equipping attendees with essential skills to better navigate the complexities of city planning and project execution. Another key highlight was the WeGO Presentation session, where WeGO’s activities and initiatives were reintroduced to the members, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to fostering sustainable urban solutions and cooperation among member cities.

The program also included a hands on site visit session offering insights into Seoul’s smart city operations. Participants toured key facilities, such as the Digital Companion Plaza, Cybersecurity Center, CCTV Safety Center, Cheonggyecheon Museum and the Seoul TOPIS (Transport Operation & Information Service). These visits showcased Seoul’s advanced infrastructure and commitment to public safety and innovation.

Participants also had the unique opportunity to experience the first-ever Seoul Smart Life Week, co- hosted by WeGO and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. This event allowed participants to engage with cutting-edge developments in urban technology through exhibition tours, forums and networking opportunities. A key moment of the week was the 2nd Seoul Smart City Prize, where participants witnessed innovative projects from cities around the world that are leading the way in smart city initiatives. This event provided a glimpse into the future of smart urban living and gave attendees practical examples of how similar strategies can be applied to their own cities.

The WeGO-NIA Joint Training Course 2024 was a resounding success, fostering collaboration and providing valuable learning experiences for all involved. Through interactive sessions, site visits and global networking opportunities, WeGO continues to drive forward its mission of promoting sustainable and connected urban environments.
