WeGO and Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Korea Seek to Accelerate Chinese City Membership and Smart City Collaboration
Seoul, October 25th — On October 25, in an effort to build lasting relationships and expand its network, Secretary General Jeong-Kee Kim of the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) met with Mr. Fang Kun, charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Korea. The meeting focused on discussing collaborative opportunities to engage with Chinese cities, encouraging their active membership within WeGO and exploring partnerships to accelerate the smart and sustainable city movement.
The Embassy responded positively in working with WeGO on programs that could support China’s urban centers in integrating smart technology and sustainable practices. Discussions also focused on avenues through which Chinese cities could benefit from WeGO’s expertise, resources and collaborative opportunities with other international cities.
Both parties emphasized the mutual benefits of partnership, highlighting how Chinese cities joining WeGO could create a dynamic exchange of insights that would strengthen smart city strategies. This marks a promising step for WeGO in its commitment to building inclusive, resilient and sustainable urban environments worldwide.
