WeGO and Embassy of Brunei Darussalam Forge Smart City Collaboration
Seoul, April 24, 2024 – Ambassador Pg Hjh Norriyah PLW Pg Hj Yussof shared valuable insights into Brunei’s recent advancements in embracing smart technologies on a nationwide scale. Noteworthy was Brunei’s National Smart City Office’s engagement in a comprehensive tour of Korea’s smart city initiatives, facilitated by Smart City Korea, showcasing the nation’s dedication to learning and collaboration in the realm of urban innovation.
A highlight of the meeting was the enthusiastic endorsement of the Seoul Smart City Prize by both parties, with WeGO encouraging Bruneian cities to participate in the upcoming Seoul Smart City Prize 2024. The Prize presents a unique opportunity for global recognition and collaboration, aligning perfectly with Brunei’s aspirations for sustainable urban development.
Looking ahead, actionable steps were outlined to deepen collaboration between WeGO and Brunei. Plans were set in motion for WeGO to coordinate with the Prize team to extend official invitations to Bruneian cities for participation in the Seoul Smart City Prize 2024. Additionally, efforts were initiated to foster closer connections between WeGO and Bandar Seri Begawan, with the aim of facilitating potential membership and deeper engagement with the organization.
