WeGO and CAIND signed an MoU to foster City-Focused Development

Seoul, January 23, 2024 –  Recognizing the importance of extending international development and official development assistance (ODA) beyond the national level, WeGO and CAIND have pledged to leverage their expertise and networks to identify and support impactful projects at the city level. This strategic partnership aims to contribute to the effective development and streamlining of projects within the ODA implementation process.

Under the terms of the MoU, WeGO and CAIND will actively share their experiences and insights, with a particular emphasis on identifying commendable projects. This collaborative approach will facilitate the seamless development and execution of projects that address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by cities. A key focal point of this collaboration will be the identification of projects sourced from the pool of smart city project applications received through the Seoul Smart City Prize. Additionally, WeGO’s member cities will play a vital role, as the organizations jointly explore and respond to the specific needs and demands identified by these cities.

“We are excited to embark on this collaborative journey with CAIND. By combining our strengths and experiences, we aim to contribute significantly to the development of innovative and sustainable solutions at the city level. This collaboration aligns with our commitment to fostering smart and resilient cities around the world” – said WeGO Secretary General Ms. Jung Sook Park.

As cities continue to play a crucial role in shaping the future of our global community, the WeGO and CAIND collaboration signals a significant step forward in promoting sustainable and inclusive city-focused development.
