WeGO and Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Forge Strong Partnership for AIM 2024, Focusing on Future Cities Pillar
Seoul, January 30, 2024 – WeGO (World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization) and the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) convened in Seoul to solidify and affirm their partnership for the upcoming AIM 2024, with a particular emphasis on advancing the Future Cities Pillar. This collaboration underscores a commitment to addressing global challenges and fostering economic development through innovation and sustainable practices.
The AIM 2024 theme, “Adapting To A Shifting Investment Landscape: Harnessing New Potential For Global Economic Development,” places special emphasis on the Future Cities Pillar, exploring the transformative impact of robotics-enabled automation and AI-enhanced systems on industries and daily life. The Future Cities Pillar at AIM 2024 will feature an array of activities, including the Mayors/Governors Future Cities Roundtable and the Future Cities Forum. These initiatives aim to catalyze discussions on smart city development and facilitate collaboration among key stakeholders.
For AIM 2024, WeGO is set to play a pivotal role as one of the lead partners for the Future Cities Pillar, working closely with UN-Habitat and AIM to drive sustainable urban development. At AIM 2023, WeGO spearheaded efforts to address urban challenges and foster collaboration in implementing smart and sustainable city projects. The “WeGO – Citizen Engagement in Smart Sustainable Cities” workshop and the high-level session, “Constructing Visions for the Future of Smart Cities,” provided a platform for Mayoral and Deputy-Mayoral delegations from WeGO member cities, including Seoul, Baguio, Bishkek, Hebron, Maputo, and San Fernando, to discuss their visions for future smart city development. The Annual Investment Meeting serves as a prominent investment platform in the Middle East, creating global opportunities and addressing challenges faced by cities and nations in terms of economic development. The event explores investment trends and strategies to maximize the potential of businesses, countries, and regions, contributing to economic diversification. WeGO and AIM’s collaborative efforts underscore their shared commitment to driving sustainable urban development and creating a brighter future for cities worldwide.
