[OFFICIAL LETTER] SG Lee Farewell Letter to Members
Official Letter
Dear WeGO members,
I am writing to inform you that my mandate as Secretary General of WeGO is soon coming to an end. I was happy to serve you, and I am happy to be able to say that we achieved quite a lot for the past three years.
It was always your tremendous support and assistance that motivated and encouraged me to move ahead. But for your guidance, I couldn’t have been able to increase the number of our members to the current level. Without your enlightenment, I would’ve lost the sense of direction to the paths for our short and long-term strategies and Masterplans.
Despite and probably due to the COVID-19, WeGO found its more relevant niche in the virtual arena, and has been conducting more activities than before. It may be because an increasing number of cities are awakening to the importance and necessity of smart technology and digitization of government. Yes, WeGO is on the right track and will be.
So, it’s my duty to thank all the members and partners for actively participating in all our activities. I also like to thank my staff at the Secretariat for their absolute devotion and keen sense of mission. It’s not an exaggeration to say that you guys made WeGO as it is now. With our members and staff, I had such a pleasure to be a part of this wonderful journey.
As I always enjoyed saying, let me repeat that WeGO is the one and only independent international organization with a standing Secretariat which is exclusively focused on smart cities. Yes, it’s true. And we are building happy cities for smart people, which is called Homosapiencity. I wish WeGO’s continued prosperity and ten thousand happiness for you all. God bless you.
Sincerely yours,
Kyong-yul Lee
Secretary General
