Dear members, partners, and stakeholders,

It is with heavy hearts that the Secretariat announces the passing of WeGO’s President and Mayor of Seoul, Won-soon Park.

Pursuant to the WeGO Statutes, the acting mayor of the President City succeeds as President until a new mayor has been elected before the end of the term of the presidency. We therefore wish to inform you that the incumbent Acting Mayor of Seoul, Jung-hyup Seo, serves as WeGO’s President from today—July 10, 2020.

The next election of the President City will take place at the 5th WeGO General Assembly, the dates of which will be publicized after consultation with the host city, to be decided in the coming months at the online WeGO Executive Committee Meeting 2020. As communicated last month by the Secretariat, the EXCOM Meeting will be scheduled shortly after a host city has been selected following the deadline for bids on July 24.
