SEOUL – A high-level delegation consisting of mayors from Peru visited WeGO’s Secretariat in Seoul this morning to discuss possibilities of working together to improve their cities and local governments.
The mayors from Cuzco and Callao Municipalities, as well as a representative from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), visited WeGO as part of a study tour in Seoul organized by the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI).
Security, data integration, and public wifi were some of the areas in which the officials expressed a desire to share in WeGO’s expertise. WeGO Secretary General Kyong-yul Lee agreed to lend his organization’s support toward solving the range of urban issues faced in Peru.
Besides WeGO, the delegation made visits to other facilities on their smart city tour, such as the Seoul Transport Operation and Information Service (TOPIS) at Seoul City Hall and Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ).
As a result of their exchange with WeGO, the representatives from KISDI committed to explore further possibilities for collaboration between the organizations.
