Seoul Smart City Prize Announces Semi-Finalists for 2024
2024-09-05
The Seoul Smart City Prize, an international award that honors innovation and excellence in smart city development, is proud to announce the semi-finalists for its 2024 edition.
The Seoul Smart City Prize is designed to promote an innovative yet inclusive smart city model that looks after underprivileged groups in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that is driven by information and communication technology. This core mission serves as the basis of the two categories of the Prize, Tech-InnovaCity and Human-CentriCity, as WeGO and the Seoul Metropolitan Government envision that smart city should be defined and measured in terms of being both human-centric and technology-centric, rather than merely being centered around the advancement of technology.
In celebrating the winners to be awarded at the Seoul Smart City Prize Ceremony in Seoul, an unparalleled opportunity is provided to show the world their work and be placed in the spotlight as leaders spearheading the development of innovative and inclusive smart cities.
As the Seoul Prize not only promotes innovative but inclusive digitalization, there is an inclusive aspect even as part of being the winner such as:
– Forming a community and network of Seoul Prize winners for a diverse range of opportunities for engagement and expansion of their initiatives.
– Invite winners to the following year’s Prize ceremony and events. This year to the Seoul Smart Life Week (SLW) where they are provided with exhibition booths, tour programs, and invitations to present their project.
– Finalists of the Seoul Smart City Prize will get the opportunity to receive a 4-week online and offline training program from the Seoul Human Resource Development Center (SHRDC).
– Offers an opportunity to select cities to implement a smart city project, including assistance to conduct pre-feasibility studies, with financial support.
